Blazing with a powerful crimson hue, Rubies have been cherished for centuries across civilisations, long symbolising passion, power, and protection. In Ancient India, they were revered as the “king of precious stones” and believed to ensure peace among enemies and rebirth in noble families.
In Burma, as an act of power and strength, legends say some warriors embedded the deep red stones into their skin, trusting the gemstone to grant invincibility in battle.
Similarly, in medieval Europe, Rubies were worn by royalty and nobility not only as markers of wealth and influence but also as protective talismans said to warn of impending danger by darkening in colour. In literature and legend, Rubies often appear as stones of vitality and desire, glowing with an inner fire said to reflect the heart’s deepest emotions.
